Saturday Morning Story Time  Conducted by Brookside Gardens Volunteers
Children will love these fun, garden- and nature-related stories. Each week features a different story followed by a simple craft. Please note that some story times may be held outside.
Saturdays,  10a.m.-10:30a.m.; Repeated 10:30a.m.-11a.m.
Free; Ages 3- 6; no registration required.

Story time is held in the Visitors Center Children’s Classroom.

Imagination Stage programs

BAPA Imagination Stage ! The teacher-artists at Imagination Stage are dedicated to nurturing the creativity of every student in a supportive classroom environment.  At the younger levels, every class uses a multidisciplinary approach which integrates music, movement, drama and the visual arts to help children express themselves, foster self confidence and interpersonal relationships.

Baltimore Zoo for Homeschoolers Free when you Re-register
The Baltimore Zoo is open to home-schoolers FREE, when you pre-register with them.  Simple procedure...Call Pat at the Baltimore Zoo Education Department 410-396-6164, http://www.baltimorezoo.org/07-pdfs/school_visit_res-form.pdf  she will send you a registration form, you send it back to her with the planned date of your visit, she sends you the FREE admission pass. If it rains, you call, reschedule, and reuse your pass. This is a grant from the State so they need us to do the red-tape thing! I spoke to the zoo and this free offer is only week days . You may pre register more then one day and make copies of the form and give to a friend so you can meet up separately or combine them and meet at the gate.

The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore offers a series of educational programs for Home School students. Sign up for as many sessions as you like, but be aware that space is limited and pre-registration is required. Registration for these programs begins on August 1. Call to check on availability before mailing registration and payment.

 

The Goddard Space Flight Center will be opening its doors from 1000 AM -600 PM on Sat 31 Jul 04 for families to enjoy food, live entertainment, rocket and robotics demos, facilities tours, and hands-on educational opportunities.  Goddard's website is www.gsfc.nasa.gov.  http://www.gsfc.nasa.gov/jasont/commday.html

Aviation Museum

College Park Aviation Museum The museum includes an open 1˝ story exhibit area which highlights a display of unique aircraft and objects relating the history of early aviation at the College Park Airport. The museum regularly updates its exhibits and offers new programs every day. Events include model and kite-making workshops, aviation crafts, a Santa Fly-In, Flight Night for Halloween and the Peter Pan Club for three to five year olds. Adults enjoy regularly scheduled lectures by aviation experts and the Hollywood Flyers Film Series. The museum houses a non-circulating library available to visitors for research and browsing during regular museum hours. Sign in at the front desk for access.

 The College Park Aviation Museum is open daily from 10am to 5pm (except major holidays)
